When purchasing a home appliance, remember that it has more than one price tag, the price you pay when you take it home and the price you pay for the energy and water it uses every month. Energy Star Qualified appliances incorporate advanced technologies that use 10% to 50% less energy and water than standard models. The money you save on your utility bills can often make up for the cost of a modern, energy-efficient Energy Star Qualified appliance.** Simple choices about efficiency can make a big difference. The US Department of Energy tells us if just one in 10 homes used modern Energy Star Qualified appliances, the change would be like planting 1.7 million new acres of trees.Look for modern energy-efficient refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, and dryers that have earned the Energy Star Qualified logo. This mark may appear on the appliance, the packaging or the Energy Guide Label.
